About Us

Drive Pro-Fleet Training Ltd has been established in the Driver Training industry now 15 years operating throughout the UK. Having built up our reputation during that time we have become very successful. We are Driving Standards Agency approved offering professional driver training, and our Managing Director is Kevin Gowen.

Kevin worked for almost twenty years as a Fire Fighter within Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, and has now more than 32 years experience working in road safety.

He became a driving instructor (ADI), qualifying in 2000 and it was always his intention to keep on improving and qualify further. After spending the first four years as an instructor learning the trade and developing skills, he passed the Institute of Advanced Motoring (IAM) test in 2004.

In 2007 Kevin qualified as a DSA Fleet Driver Trainer. and the Company branched out offering Companies Risk Assessments for their car drivers.

As a Company, we set high aims and objectives, and attempt to achieve them in the most professional way possible. That means never resting on laurels, continuing to review and improve our services.

We approached the DfT in 2008 about the SAFED for Vans course, and Kevin soon qualified as a SAFED for Vans trainer, and a year later became a Senior SAFED Trainer, one of only ten in the UK.

In November 2008, following the DSA Check test he became a DSA Grade 6 Fleet Trainer, the highest possible grade.

As the Company expanded even more, we decided to incorporate minibus training, so later in 2008 we approached the Community Transport Association (CTA) with a view to discussing MiDAS training. Kevin went on to qualify as a Driver Assessor Trainer (DAT) in January 2009, and following a very successful period the Company achieved Training Agency status, one of only appx 30 in the UK.

Recently we have included another course through MiDAS, being the 5 Steps to Safety Emergency Evacuation of a minibus using smoke. We also offer PATs and Car & MPV Training again through MiDAS. 

Kevin has many other duties including working as a Fleet Tutor, Skid Car Trainer, DATT Taxi Trainer and for the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, delivering courses such as NDAC and Speed Awareness Workshops. He also trains people to become Driving Instructors (ADI) and provides Check Test training for both ADI and Fleet trainers.

We are now offering Driver CPC for PCV and LGV. Please refer to the training page for what our courses offer.

Kevin is currently a consultant for a major college in the UK helping to organise a van training programme for over 1000 Van and 200 LGV drivers.

All trainers who work for Drive Pro-Fleet Training Ltd are DSA Fleet Registered, and are either a Grade 5 or 6.
